In Inman Park there's a sandwich spot that offers sandwiches and one of the city's best patios for people-watching. Victory Sandwich Bar is located on Elizabeth Street, opposite Savi Urban Market, and for a few dollars you can pick up sandwiches from a classic Cuban (called the Castro) or the vegetarian Weed Eater.
Your best bet is to pick a couple of different sandwiches and sample your way through the menu until you've figured out what you like, and at $4 a pop, it's an affordable strategy.
And if you're in the neighborhood after dark, Victory is open until 2am, serving cocktails like their famous (it was featured on Anthony Bourdain's The Layover: Atlanta) Jack and Coke Slushie, and there's a ping-pong table available for some light-hearted trash talking. Perfect for those 80 degree Atlanta summer evenings.
